Flash Is Where It's At

Most articles, books, movies, TV shows, and foreplay are twice as long as they need be. Therefore, Women & Children Last (WCL) is devoted to promoting flash fiction.

If you ask ten different people what flash fiction is, you'll get four different answers: Any work of fiction that's 1,500 words long, 1,000 words long, 500 words, or even 50 words long. The correct answer is "all of the above."

At WCL virtually all our pieces are 50 words. (We've added a few longer pieces--none longer than 1,500 words--in case you've got extra time to kill.)
